The 5 Best Beaches in Spain

Many travellers visit Spain for its beaches. Due to its prime location on the Mediterranean Sea, Spain’s southern coast is warm throughout the year. The country has five thousand miles of coastline. The most popular locations are the Costa del Sol and Costa Blanca, but beaches throughout the southern portion of the country may be just what visitors are looking for.

The following are some of the best beaches in Spain. Their location and popularity make them ideal places to visit throughout the year:

San Sebastian is the first stop. Here you will find La Concha, which is considered one of the best beaches in all of Europe, not just Spain.

In Asturias, northern Spain, visit Playa del Silencio: its picturesque surroundings make it a special retreat.

roses-bay-spainPlaya de Las Catedrales in Galicia is another ideal beach worth visiting. Here, unique rock formations located along the coast make for a spectacular sight.

The 17 golden beaches of Sitges, near Barcelona, are also a popular choice. These beaches tend to attract a younger crowd, perhaps making them a bit less ideal for family travellers.

In the Costa del Sol, the beaches of Nerja are well worth a visit as they are often less crowded than other beaches in this region and have beautiful powdery sand and clear water.

These are just a few of the numerous beaches in Spain worth a visit. For those who are looking for a relaxing retreat, warm water and plenty of sun, head to these Spanish beaches.
