If you are planning a Spain villa holiday or package holiday you might be considering either the Costa del Sol or Costa Blanca. If you’ve chosen a resort along the coastline from Nerja in the east to Gibraltar in the west, you’re holiday bound for the Costa del Sol. More than 2 million people a year land at the Malaga International Airport to take their holidays in one of the fabulous resorts along this coastline.
A large draw for holidaymakers is the impeccable weather. The Costa del Sol gets approximately 300 days of sunshine a year with an average temperature of 18ºC. This is only one of the reason the Costa del Sol remains one of Europe’s top destinations. There are more than 70 golf courses on the ‘Costa del Golf’, which of course, can be enjoyed year round.
Aside from golf are a large variety of adventurous activities that include dolphin safaris, sailing, horse riding and scuba diving. Costa Blanca lies in the province of Alicante and is made up of more than 200 kilometres of exceptional coastline.
This area offers a variety of popular resorts in varying sizes. This area attracts more than 5 million travellers a year, a large majority of them being British. Benidorm is a particular favourite with visitors. It was once a lazy fishing village but as of the 1960s it exploded into a major city. Only Milan and London have more high-rise buildings than Benidorm.
The attraction with Benidorm is its three blue flag, first class beaches as well as a vast selection of entertainment for every person in every age group. During the summer months, it is filled with Brits while the winter months attract northern Europeans who seek sunshine.
Whether you opt for the Costa del Sol or Costa Blanca for your next holiday you won’t be disappointed. There are plenty of Spain villas with pools and great value hotel accommodation in both these world class holiday destinations.
